Formerly employed at DSM, among others as R&D director Corporate Research Life Science Products. Takes a broad view on Asian developments from his experience at DSM. Has been involved for over twenty years in shaping and executing national sustainability and green technology policies. Former member of the Dutch Scientific and Technological Commission for the biobased economy (WTC).
Diederik van der Hoeven
Science journalist, a philosopher by training. Worked as a teacher at secondary schools, with the Dutch branch of Friends of the Earth (Milieudefensie), and as an assistant professor in Science and Society. Worked as the director of the unit of political analysis at Dutch political party D66, and as a staff member at Dutch railways (NS). Was an independent consultant for some time, then from 2002 onwards a science journalist. Specializes in sustainability, energy and the biobased economy.
